The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware
Some of the facts...
The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for the families of seriously ill children who need homestead during their child's treatment.
In 2021/2022, the House hosted a total of 1423 families.
During that time, there was a total of 6297 overnight stays and a total of $755,160 spent on meals for the residents.
Meal Plan: The House provides a warm, nutritious dinner to their families 365 days per year. Pre-COVID, they had a robust list of groups who would purchase and prepare dinners for the families, but, during the height of COVID, The House assumed the cost of preparing these meals, and unfortunately, now that restrictions have eased, those meal groups have still not returned. Purchasing meals for The House and preparing them is, now more than ever, a big part of their yearly costs. So, the money raised as part of SALSTHON will help to support their meal program, which would allow The House to no longer worry about having to fund meals, but instead, focus on continuing to provide care for the families in need. The approximate cost of providing meals for all families this year is $182,000, which just so happens to be our goal for this year's SALSTHON.
WE NEED YOU to help make a difference, to pay their kindness forward...
SALSTHON stands for Students About Life Saving and over the past ten years, students from Salesianum, Padua, and Ursuline have raised over $1,400,400 for local non-profit organizations.
